Hermann Dolling Jnr (II) Double Bass

This attractively-modelled double bass was made at the end of the nineteenth century by Hermann Dolling Jnr. Dolling trained in a number of excellent workshops around Germany before returning to Markneukirchen in 1886 to continue the family business, and was awarded a number of medals at various violin making competitions for his work. This instrument has recently been restored in our workshop and converted to carry five strings. It offers excellent playability and sounds absolutely fantastic. The playable shape makes it an ideal partner for anyone looking for a five-string double bass.
