Manchester Double Bass

Made in Manchester in the second half of the nineteenth century, this interesting double bass was clearly inspired by the great dynasty of makers from Northern England such as William Tarr, James Cole, and James Briggs. We have fitted a new neck in our workshop, as well as giving the rest of the instrument a good check over and set-up. The easily accommodating upper shoulders make this instrument very playable and the sound is huge for such a compact instrument. A real player’s double bass.
