Joseph Tarr Double Bass

Joseph Tarr was the second son of the famous Northern English double bass maker William Tarr. William's influence can be clearly seen in this rare double bass made by Joseph in 1899, while still living in Manchester. This instrument is offered in excellent condition and would be an ideal tool for orchestra, solo or auditioning. The shape of the upper bouts and the dimensions make this double bass very playable, while the sizeable lower bouts help to create its huge sound.

String Length: 105.8cm
Length of Back: 114cm
Rib Depth: 20.5cm
Upper Bout: 52.5cm
Middle Bout: 37.5cm
Lower Bout: 74.5cm
