This instrument is based on the incredible Cremonese double bass made by Vincenzo Ruggeri around 1695. For our take on it we have changed the soundholes to those of Hieronymus Amati II and increased the rib depth to create even more air space. The well-proportioned upper shoulders make this model very easy to play despite being a larger instrument.
The Martin Ruggeri double bass is available in both four- and five-string versions. A specific string length and other special requests can easily be accommodated. If you want any further information or would like to place an order, please do get in touch.
